strategy aimed at achieving a full transition to zero-emission public
transport by 2050.
RTA is translating this future-focused vision into action through a
comprehensive framework spanning vehicles, public buses and marine
transport, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and UAE Net
Zero 2050 Strategy.
As part of its efforts to modernise the taxi and limousine sectors, RTA has
increased the share of environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles in Dubai’s
taxi and limousine fleet to more than 72%. Electric vehicles now account
for 19% of the fleet, exceeding the target set for 2026. RTA has also
developed an ambitious operational plan to convert the entire taxi and
limousine fleet to electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2040.
In parallel, RTA is expanding the testing and deployment of autonomous
