Dubai , September 5, 2026 : Dubai Airports continued its month-long Emirati Women’s Day programme with a special edition of the Dubai Mallathon at Dubai International (DXB), bringing Emirati women, colleagues, families and members of the public together for a celebratory walk through Terminal 3.

The event brought members of the Dubai Airports Women’s Network (DAWN) and other participants together to mark this year’s theme, Moving Forward.

Emerging Together. It recognised the achievements and contributions of Emirati women across Dubai Airports, the aviation sector and the UAE, while reflecting DAWN’s role in creating opportunities for colleagues to connect, learn from one another and build supportive networks.

Combining movement and community, the walk promoted wellbeing, inclusion and connection, reflecting the spirit of the citywide initiative launched in 2025 by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

The event also marked the conclusion of the Dubai Mallathon at DXB, which Dubai Airports brought to the airport for the first time this summer as the initiative’s first non-mall venue.

Throughout August, Terminal 3 became an indoor walking environment where Dubai Airports teams, oneDXB partners, People of Determination and members of the public could connect and stay active.

Dubai, September 4, 2026 : Space42, the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company, has launched the Future Spacers Programme to develop Emirati talent in space, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. In line with the UAE’s National Space Strategy 2031, the programme gives Emirati students interested in STEM, AI, data management and emerging technologies up to 16 weeks of training at Space42 facilities. The inaugural cohort comprises students selected from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Zayed University, as well as schools identified by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). Adith Abraham, Vice President of Talent Engagement and Development at Space42 said, “The future of space will be shaped by technology innovation today, and the talent that we nurture to apply it tomorrow. As the disciplines of space and AI continue to overlap, the industry will see growing calls for teams that can turn emerging technologies into practical solutions. The Future Spacers Programme is a long-term investment in that capability. By engaging students before they enter the workforce, we can give them the strong foundations from which to contribute to the UAE’s space and AI ecosystem.” The Future Spacers Programme commenced its 2026 inaugural season, following a selection process for students that included enrollment in relevant STEM fields of study, a minimum GPA requirement, and interviews. Within the programme, theoretical seminars will explore the uses of space-based technology and how AI can be used to support extensive data analysis. Practical experience guided by industry specialists is designed to focus on business and industry challenges. Supplementing technical learning is professional and workplace skill development, including problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and adaptability. The programme will culminate in Space42 certification, recognised by the partner entities. Upcoming cohorts will be welcomed on a bi-annual basis, advancing Space42’s role in growing the national workforce through consistent engagement with universities and schools.

Dubai , September 3, 2026 : The Abu Dhabi Awards Meylas hosted a panel discussion, titled “Emirati Women Who Inspire Goodness”, during the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2026, held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The panel highlighted initiatives and personal stories that have positively impacted the lives of others, featuring Abu Dhabi Awards recipients Dr Ayesha Al Memari and Farah Al Qaissieh. The session was moderated by Amal Al Ameri, Member of the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee.

Sharing their personal journeys, the two recipients highlighted how Emirati women are transforming their experiences and professional expertise into initiatives that support communities, improve quality of life and create lasting impact.

Held as part of this year’s Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, the session also examined the role of Emirati values and positive role models in fostering a culture of goodness and giving.

It also seeks to prepare national talent to assume influential roles in areas such as store management, supply chain, digital transformation and in-store operations.

He noted that Union Coop aims to continue increasing its Emiratisation rate gradually, while maintaining a strong focus on the quality of employment and long-term career sustainability. Ajman , September 2, 2026 : Ajman is welcoming hundreds of specialists, enthusiasts and collectors from around the world for the sixth edition of the Ajman International Coin and Stamp Exhibition, organised by the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media from 2nd to 6th September at Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel.

The strong international participation reflects the emirate’s growing position as a destination for specialised cultural and heritage events.

This year’s exhibition brings together around 85 specialised shops and 300 exhibitors representing 50 nationalities, alongside more than 50,000 coins, stamps and collectables with a combined face value exceeding AED5 million.

The event provides an international platform for collectors, experts and industry participants to exchange knowledge, build connections and explore items of significant historical and cultural value.

Visitors can discover an extensive collection of rare coins, stamps and collectables, including pieces dating back to the pre-Union era and rare items from across the Gulf region. Together, these collections offer insight into important historical milestones and reflect the social, economic and cultural development of communities across the region.

The exhibition also features participation from Arab postal institutions, including Saudi Post, Oman Post, Qatar Post, Bahrain Post, Jordan Post and Syrian Post, alongside institutions and organisations from several other countries.

Dubai , September 2, 2026 : Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), the aerospace platform of Dubai South dedicated to advancing the aviation industry, has announced continued progress on its new Suppliers Complex, further expanding its infrastructure in response to growing demand from aviation and aerospace businesses seeking to establish and expand their operations at Dubai South.

The new facility builds on the success of MBRAH’s existing Suppliers Complex, the first vertical aerospace complex in the region, and forms part of the ongoing expansion of its Aerospace Supply Chain zone.

Upon completion by the end of 2026, the facility will feature 88 leasable units across three levels, catering to maintenance service providers, aircraft parts traders and aerospace companies. Dubai, September 2, 2026 : Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) will return to Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group, from 22nd to 26th October 2026 for its Spring/Summer 2027 (SS27) edition, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for fashion and creativity.

Co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, the upcoming edition of DFW will present a curated programme showcasing regional creativity, while continuing to champion emerging designers on the global stage. The SS27 edition will bring together a lineup of designers alongside leading buyers and key industry stakeholders.

Complementing the runway schedule, the programme will include networking opportunities for designers, buyers, established retailers and members of the media. Dubai , September 2, 2026 : The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure convened the first Executive Technical Roundtable of the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA) during Middle East Energy 2026, bringing together senior government officials, corporate leaders, technology providers, and financial institutions to accelerate the implementation of practical and scalable energy efficiency solutions.

Held under the theme “Moving Energy Efficiency from Commitments to Action,” the high-level roundtable focused on translating energy efficiency ambition into implementation through innovative technologies, pilot projects, financing mechanisms and stronger collaboration between governments, industry, and financial institutions.

The roundtable presented GEEA’s vision and growing international implementation agenda, while providing participating companies with an opportunity to share innovative technologies, implementation case studies, and pilot projects capable of delivering measurable energy efficiency improvements.

Discussions also explored opportunities for technology validation, collaborative pilot projects, financing solutions, and implementation partnerships that could support wider deployment across participating countries.

Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, said, “Energy efficiency is no longer simply an opportunity to reduce energy consumption; it is a strategic imperative for strengthening energy security, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting sustainable economic growth. Through GEEA, the UAE is bringing together governments, businesses, financial institutions, and technology leaders to move from shared commitments to measurable action.

“Our objective is practical: to connect governments seeking solutions with companies that can provide technologies and implementation expertise, and with financial institutions that can help mobilise the investment required to deploy them. Led by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, GEEA is a government-led, implementation-focused alliance established to help bridge the gap between global energy efficiency commitments and practical action.

The Alliance brings together governments, industry, financial institutions, technology providers, international organisations, and academia to accelerate the deployment of practical and scalable solutions through policy collaboration, technical cooperation, capacity building, technology partnerships, project matchmaking, and knowledge exchange.

The roundtable also highlighted the role of the GEEA digital platform in supporting continued collaboration beyond the event. The platform enables participating governments and partners to share implementation experiences, innovative technologies, policy knowledge, financing solutions, and best practices, while helping connect identified needs with relevant technical and financial capabilities.

Participants explored future collaboration through GEEA’s technical workstreams, pilot projects and international implementation initiatives, with a focus on identifying practical opportunities that can progress from technical dialogue towards validation, demonstration, and wider deployment.

Through GEEA, the UAE aims to strengthen the connection between policy ambition, technology, finance, and implementation, helping transform global energy efficiency commitments into practical projects and measurable outcomes that contribute to energy security, economic competitiveness, climate action, and sustainable development.

Sharjah, September 2, 2026 : From a simple thread transformed into a handcrafted piece to an engineering idea brought to
life, 75 participants at the House of Wisdom Summer Camp took part in two activities that
combined hands-on learning with creativity and practical skills.
During the “Make Your Own Summer Crochet Bag” workshop, participants learned the
fundamentals of crochet and techniques for making bags using recycled T-shirt yarn, choosing
their own colours and details to give each piece a personal touch. The workshop combined
creative expression with the precision of crochet, while showing how recycled materials can find
new life through craft.
At the Al Jazari FabLab, the “Elite Engineer Summer Camp” took students from theory to hands-
on practice. Participants learned to use tools safely, perform basic repairs, and read technical
drawings while exploring the fundamentals of construction, electrical work, and vehicle
maintenance. They also developed their public-speaking and presentation skills, learning how to
communicate their ideas with confidence.
