Quality investment for long-term growth
On the opening day, H.E. Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, spoke on a
panel discussion titled “The Shared Prosperity Investment Playbook: The New Investment
Standard for Global Leadership.”
He stressed that quality investments are determined by their long-term development metrics,
including job creation, capacity building and stronger supply chains. He cited that in 2025,
Sharjah attracted 42 investment projects worth AED 7.74 billion in 2025, and created 5,673
jobs, amongst which 75% of the new positions were filled. He also noted that 38,169 business
licences were issued and renewed in the first half of 2026, representing a 2% increase
compared with the same period in 2025, while real estate transactions across the emirate
reached AED 29.5 billion.
Al Musharrkh attributed Sharjah’s growing economic resilience in part to strategic new projects
strengthening supply chains, including the expansion of Khorfakkan Port to a capacity of 10
million containers, new trade routes with China and the development of the Al Dhaid logistics
complex with Oman. The emirate’s infrastructure spans 21 industrial zones, seven free zones
and three ports, supported by economic incentives that strengthen the emirate’s
competitiveness and provide investors with a flexible and stable business environment designed
to navigate global changes.
